The court found the husband primarily at fault, ordering him to pay monthly alimony of 750 Turkish lira ($20) and compensation of 80,000 Turkish lira ($2,000).According to the local news outlet 'Haberler,' a woman identified as 'H.B.' accused her husband of constant verbal abuse and failing to provide adequate financial support. She stated that her husband spends excessive time on social media, where he repeatedly likes photos of other women, including suggestive ones, and sometimes leaves flirty comments.She claimed this behavior violated his marital duty of fidelity, leading her to file for divorce and claim alimony and compensation. The husband, identified as 'S.B.,' denied any wrongdoing.Lawyer Imamoglu told the media that this ruling marks a turning point in how digital interactions are now considered strong evidence in divorce cases. He added: 'Now, screenshots, messages, and all digital interactions will be taken into account when determining the responsibility of each party. I advise spouses to be mindful of this when using social media.'The woman also explained that her husband's liking of other women's photos eroded trust in the marriage, stating: 'These seemingly innocent digital interactions can exacerbate emotional insecurity and disrupt the balance of the marital relationship.'
