Argentinian forward Mauro Icardi had a controversial confrontation with Portuguese head coach José Mourinho, whom he referred to as "the crier." The dispute began following a post by Mourinho, the current coach of Turkey's Fenerbahce, where he ironically referred to a handball by a Galatasaray player, the team Icardi plays for.
In the post, Mourinho congratulated Portugal for reaching the semifinals of the Handball World Cup and emphasized the positive impact on youth. The accompanying image showed Davinson Sánchez of Galatasaray touching the ball with his hand without a penalty being called for the opposing team, which sparked Icardi's anger.
The forward, embroiled in a legal dispute with his ex-wife Wanda Nara and recently facing Yanina Latorre over comments about his current partner, María Eugenia "China" Suárez, counterattacked Mourinho by calling him "The crier one" in his social media stories. Additionally, he shared images where Fenerbahce benefited from refereeing decisions.
It is worth noting that both Icardi's Galatasaray and Mourinho's Fenerbahce are prominent rivals in the Turkish Super League, with the Argentine's team leading by six points after 21 matchdays.
