Turkey's Ministry of Defense announced that NATO's defenses intercepted a ballistic missile that entered Turkish airspace. The ministry stated in a statement: "A ballistic missile launched from Iran entered Turkish airspace and was neutralized by NATO's air defense and missile defense systems in the eastern Mediterranean, the second such incident in five days." It added that fragments of the projectile fell in an open area near Gaziantep in the south of the country without causing any injuries. Turkey's Ministry of Defense also announced that NATO's defenses destroyed a ballistic missile launched from Iran in the eastern Mediterranean.
