Turkey's Ministry of Defense announced at its weekly press conference that the country plans to deploy fighter jets on a rotational basis to Estonia for four months, from August to November 2026, followed by another mission in Romania from December 2026 to March 2027. The ministry added that Ankara significantly contributes to NATO's air policing operations, which aim to protect the airspace of allies during peacetime. It also noted that the ministry had previously carried out similar missions in Poland between July and September 2021, and in Romania.
