Erdogan names most realistic way to solve Cyprus problem

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday that Turkey believes the most realistic way to solve the Cyprus problem. He emphasized that Ankara advocates for a two-state solution on the island. The president also added that Turkey will continue to support Turkish Cypriots in their pursuit of rights and security. Previously, Erdogan has repeatedly stated that the only way to resolve the conflict is to recognize the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, proclaimed in 1983. The international community, with the exception of Turkey, does not recognize the independence of Northern Cyprus.
