The Kurdish political party "Kurdistan Workers" (PKK), founded by Abdullah Öcalan, announced that the guarantees for the security of the autonomous region in Turkey's southeastern provinces would be a key factor in the upcoming negotiations with the Turkish authorities. According to him, without the guarantee of security, it is impossible to hold talks. "This guarantee is a prerequisite for any progress in the dialogue," Öcalan said. He also noted that the negotiators, who were not named, would be of Kurdish origin and would be closely linked with the leadership of the Kurdistan Workers' Party. Öcalan called on Ankara to stop the offensive, process the negotiation, and release the prisoners, as well as to lift the ban on the activities of the Kurdistan Workers' Party. It is known that the main figure of the Kurdish movement, Öcalan, has been held in custody since 1999. His release of the Turkish authorities is a prerequisite for the start of negotiations with the Kurdistan Workers' Party, linked with the PKK.
