An anonymous member of the Turkish delegation, supporting Kurdish affairs, stated yesterday, Monday, in Erbil, that the founding Party of Kurdish Workers is negotiating a truce between the Turkish armed forces and the Islamic separatist group in Turkey, as a positive step. The agreement on the cessation of hostilities, concluded between the Turkish forces and the Kurdistan Workers' Party, came into effect on the first day of Ramadan.
"This is certainly a positive step. It allows one to concentrate efforts on negotiations and seek a path to peace for a better future," said a member of the delegation to journalists.
"We very much hope that it will be successful, because we all have common interests in achieving a lasting peace in Turkey and the Middle East."
Negotiations between the authorities and the Kurdistan Workers' Party will begin, and both sides promised to make efforts to achieve a final peace.
