
Yesterday Turkey marked the second anniversary of the earthquake that occurred on February 6, 2023, resulting in the deaths of 60 thousand people, including Syrian nationals, and left many cities in ruins.
Thousands of buildings collapsed in southern Turkey following a 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck overnight, leading to the loss of many lives in the rubble. At the time of the incident, Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan referred to this tragedy as a "catastrophe of the century" and urged his citizens to "be patient".
Erdogan promised to continue efforts to restore the neighborhoods "with determined efforts, mobilization of resources, boldness, and a steel wave, to fully restore the neighborhoods."
