According to official data published in the weekly, annual inflation of consumer prices in Turkey decreased to 39.05% in February. This became the result of the stabilization of the Turkish lira and measures to curb food prices.
Consumer prices in Turkey in February 2022 increased by 1.1% compared to the previous month. Since the beginning of the year, inflation has been 4.89%.
Economists note that the decrease in inflation in Turkey may stimulate economic growth and improve the purchasing power of the population. However, the country faces challenges related to high inflation levels and external factors affecting the economy.
"The decrease in inflation in Turkey is a good sign for the country's economy. Price growth since the beginning of the year has been lower than expected, which may indicate a positive effect on confidence in the Turkish economy," said one of the economists.
The Turkish government continues to work on stabilizing the economic situation in the country and fighting inflation.
