Turkish-Arab Economic Relations Flourish

Murat Efe, Founder and Chairman of the Turkish-Arab Economic Forum, commented on the continuous development of Turkish-Arab economic relations. He mentioned that trade between the two sides had surpassed AED200 billion in 2024. Efe shared his insights during the 2025 World Government Summit, emphasizing the significance of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and Turkey.

Efe highlighted that the agreement had led to an 11 percent increase in trade between the two countries in 2024. He also pointed out the positive impact on mutual investments in the solar and hydroelectric energy sectors, as well as in the aviation industry. The Turkish-Arab Economic Forum, as Efe stated, places specific focus on strengthening economic ties with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and North Africa.

According to Efe, over 80 percent of Turkey's foreign trade is conducted with Central Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North Africa. He underlined that Turkey's GDP is steadily nearing US$1.2 trillion, showcasing a substantial expansion in its economic relations. Efe emphasized Turkey's intention to prioritize the integration of advanced technologies into its industrial and aviation sectors in the upcoming period.
