Social media users in Turkey have shared a photo of a sign left by mosque goers for the imam, asking him to shorten the duration of the Tarawih night prayers so they can watch a match in the Turkish Super League. According to the odaTV website, the incident took place at a mosque in the Gürel district of Giresun province. On Monday, worshippers left a note for the imam that read: "There is a Fenerbahçe match tonight. We kindly request that you shorten the sermon and lead the prayer quickly so that we can get to the match on time." Based on this message, the imam shortened the sermon and reduced the number of supplications, enabling the young people to attend the match on time. Imam Şenol Yılmaz stated that he found the note when he went up to the minbar to deliver the sermon before the prayer, explaining that he was not aware of the Fenerbahçe-Kasımpaşa match scheduled for that evening.
