Turkish police have solved a shocking murder case in the city of Bursa, ending weeks of mystery. The case involves the killing of Ali Fuat Ozonoglu, a 75-year-old retired police officer. The incident began on January 28 when Ozonoglu disappeared from his home in the Osman Gazi district. Two days later, his wife reported to the police that he had gone to open the door and never returned. During the initial investigation, police found the victim's personal belongings, including his phone, wallet, and official papers, inside the apartment. They also discovered traces of blood in several locations, such as the kitchen, bathroom, and entrance, along with sharp instruments suspected to be used in the crime. As the investigation deepened, forensic tests confirmed the blood belonged to the victim, and fingerprints on a cleaver and knife matched those of the wife. She was seen moving around the house in the days following the disappearance, which strengthened the suspicion against her. She was placed under surveillance before being formally detained at the beginning of April. During interrogation, the wife initially denied committing the murder but later confessed to dismembering the body into 15 pieces, placing them in plastic bags, and disposing of them in trash bins over several stages. She claimed the death occurred due to a fall down the stairs and that she acted out of fear of being accused of murder. The couple lived alone in the apartment, which was found to be in a state of neglect, partially complicating the evidence collection in the initial hours. Despite intensive searches in the neighborhood and surrounding areas, police have not yet been able to locate the body parts.
