The Government of National Unity of Libya announced the formation of an investigation committee to look into the circumstances of the plane crash of Chief of Staff Mohamed al-Haddad near the Turkish capital, Ankara. The committee is tasked with searching for and verifying any suspicions of negligence, dereliction of duty, or criminal acts, in addition to coordinating procedures for repatriating the bodies to Libya. Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya had confirmed the loss of contact with the aircraft that was carrying the head of the committee. The committee will be responsible for direct coordination and communication with Turkish security and judicial authorities to get details of the incident, as well as reviewing all documents and reports related to safety procedures, in cooperation with the Turkish side.
